My kinda place -- Shankar Mahadevan

MORE THAN ONE

I am in a dilemma

Which place to call my kinda place. There are so many favourite destinations — Kumarakom, Goa, Singapore and Manhattan. Each has its own charm. I am a travel buff anyway. To add to that my profession takes me all over the world.

Delightful Kumarakom

The whole ambience is so refreshing that you forget all your worries and ailments. Situated in the southern coast, on the banks of Vembanad Lake, this enchanting backwater picnic spot offers several leisure options — boating, fishing, sight seeing and staying on houseboats. There are many good resorts that offer attractive holiday packages. It's quite a sight to watch the Vembanad lake dotted with streams and canals, and lined with thousand of coconut palms.

Evergreen Goa

Goa is special to me. A place I go to most often with my family for a short break. My wife and kids love it too. The beautiful beaches, food and of course, the music.

Manhattan

If you want to be where action is, then it is Manhattan. Sports, restaurants, shopping, music and dance, it is all there. Situated in the rolling hills of Kansas, it also has the advantage of having a natural landscape.

Shop till I drop

I am that kind. And my wife joins me too. In fact, my friends in the U.S and Singapore make fun of us saying, our visit means boom time for stores and boutiques. Clothes, accessories, electronic gadgets... we can just go on hopping in and out of shops for the entire day.

Slurp, slurp

I am a confirmed foodie. It keeps the flock (my gang of friends) together. We eat and play music to our heart's content.
