Work better, feel better

The office just got more adaptable. And more professional too. Thanks to Haworth Inc., a world-leading designer, manufacturer and marketer of high quality office furniture and adaptable workspaces. It claims to provide innovative work environment that is flexible, reliable and enhances an organisation's performance and image. Outlining the company's strategy and growth plans, Kapil Agrawal, MD, Haworth India Pvt Ltd, said, "We are very optimistic about India. We have invested over US$ 10 million in India this year to set up a manufacturing plant, which will be inaugurated in February 2006, and two showrooms in Mumbai and Banglore. We foresee a continued growth of over 30 per cent per annum for the next three years to reach US $ 50 million by 2010." Agrawal was addressing a seminar on the "The Ergonomic Workplace" in the New Delhi where Olivia Lee, Seating Category Manager for Haworth Asia Pacific and Haworth's Asia Pacific ergonomics expert stressed the importance of ergonomics in India's changing work culture.

"Ergonomics is the discipline that involves fitting the job to the worker and not the worker to the job. It is the science of adapting workstations, tools, equipment and job practices to be compatible with the individual worker and thus reduce the risk factors. Practically good ergonomic principles provide many benefits including physical, mental and financial and prevents musculoskeletal disorders and injuries," said Ms Olivia Lee.

Haworth India has close to 200 customers in India, including Amex India, Boeing, Convergys, Fidelity Investments, Microsoft , EDS, Target, Lehman Brothers, Nokia among others.
