Narratives for the young

Children's films dominate the Hyderabad Film Club screening this week

BRAVE HEARTS `Pandavulu' is a saga of five courageous children

Travails of little Bruno and his friend Jean-Roger in Bagnolet, a northeast suburb of Paris is an engrossing story that director Jean-Claude Brisseau spools for his De Bruit et de Fureur (Sound and Fury).

The film opens this week's screening by Hyderabad Film Club at Sri Sarathi Studio today at 6.30 p.m.

This thought-provoking French flick is followed by Siva Jonnalagadda's Deeksha, which will be screened tomorrow.

Screened at the 14th International Children's Film Festival 2005, this is the story of Suri who is inspired by Eklavya from the Mahabharata in his pursuit — of learning martial arts from a private expensive school.

And succeeds in his mission, getting admission in the school with his earnest dedication to the art. The predominantly children's films week wraps up with S. Haribabu's Pandavulu (December 22), a saga of five brave children.
