Unsafe city

Apropos of Bhumika K.'s article Unsafe City (December 19, 2005) I think twice before I send my daughter even to buy salt from the shop located in the next road after 8 p.m. fearing for her safety.

Leave alone the plight of families settled in outlying extensions: the main reason is that nobody bothers what happens to their neighbours. Once something horrific happens, people blame the police, auto drivers, call centre drivers and so on.

It is important for members of a community to understand and co-operate with each other. A piece of advice to our young people: don't flash around expensive gadgets and dress properly.
