A spirited evening

IN ACTION! Singer KK at the performance

This weekend, the somewhat `cold' yuletide spirit in the Capital received a much-needed `kick', at an enthralling and exhilarating concept based carnival organised by Seagram's for corporates at Mittal Gardens.

Spread over two action-packed evenings, the Royal Stag Corporate Carnival, organised for the second year, is a unique initiative from Seagram to bring individuals from different corporate backgrounds on a common platform, to showcase their prowess in a medium that binds us all - music.

Real fizz

As the temperature plummeted and a huge crowd, dressed in full winter gear congregated, the high voltage, high decibel drama unfolded on an impressive stage, under the condescending gaze of a benign moon, watching through the floating mist.

However, the real fizz was uncorked by the power-packed performance of KK and rock stars Parikrama.

As KK unleashed one chartbuster after another, the all too passionate crowd, braving unsparing cold winds, went into raptures of ecstasy, as if entranced by the notes of music.

"My second album, coming after six years, will be ready shortly," revealed the energy dynamo KK to a round of roaring applause from his fans. The explosive energy onstage was replicated offstage as well, as several youngsters in the audience danced their heart out in sync with the blitzkrieg on stage.

The icing on the cake was provided by the presence of National Award winning Bollywood superstar and Royal Stag brand ambassador, Saif Ali Khan. He not only played the guitar but crooned too. And Khan said rightly before his do at the carnival, "Playing guitar is my passion and I am actually excited about the forthcoming jig."
