Kingfisher Swimsuit Special 2006 is all set to sizzle the new year

BEACH BABE Deepika Padukone sizzles on the calendar

Exotic locales, ravishing silhouettes and visages that could launch a thousand ships - put this three into a heady mix and the product that comes to mind is a calendar that holds a promise to keep scorching your all through the year. A shutterbugs dream, ever since the inaugural edition of the Kingfisher calendar was published in 2003 followed by consecutive editions were launched by Shah Rukh Khan, Hrithik Roshan and Salman Khan respectively, the supporting URL www.kingfishercalendar.com has recorded million hits every week and counting, while the calendar is a multimedia property unto itself.

Conceived by liquor baron and United Breweries chairman Vijay Mallya, the glossy offering is not just a spill over of his flamboyant lifestyle. Mailed to a select list in 54 countries where Kingfisher beer is sold, the limited edition calendar has given fillip to fashion in this part of the world. Models to have graced the calendar include Katrina Kaif, Pia Trivedi, Ujwala Raut, Vidisha Pawate and Yana Gupta donning lines by Aki Narula, Anshu Arora Sen, Hemant Trivedi, Manoviraj Khosla, Ritu Beri, Rocky S, Rohit Bal, Tarun Tahiliani and others, not forgetting the ace photographer behind the lens Atul Kasbekar.

From the scorching sun of Masai Mara to wild Australia - tropical Cairns, the magnificent Great Barrier Reef and scenic Kangaroo Island, the calendar lines up more sizzle and fun this year.

"This year's calendar extends the global fashion platform to all new faces and all new designers. Design entries were invited from 12-design schools NID, NIFT, SNDT, Srishti and Sophia Polytechnic.

Over 100 entries poured in and 24 made to the shortlist with an exclusive cover done by Wendell Rodricks," says the baron. Did you say a bevy of beauties in stunning swimwear against Australian rockscape. That's exactly what the 12 leaves have in store for you. Cheers.
