Miss India contest
Pond's Femina Miss India contest, an important step into international pageants and a career in the fashion field, has commenced its search for icons who will represent India at international pageants in 2006.
The beauty contest, one of the most prestigious in the country and which has seen the likes of Sushmita Sen, Aishwarya Rai, Lara Dutta, Diya Mirza, Yukta Mookhey, Priyanka Chopra and Tanushree Dutta, is inviting young women (who are not married) in the age group of 18 to 26 years as on January 31, 2006.
Entries for the contest close on January 5. The event will be held in Mumbai in March.
The top three winners of the Pond's Femina Miss India contest will be titled Pond's Femina Universe, Pond's Femina Miss World and Pond's Femina Miss Earth, respectively, and will be the official Indian representation in international pageants.
While Pond's remains the title sponsor, Pantaloon this year is the associate sponsor for Pond's Femina Miss India 2006.
The Pond's Femina Miss India contest turns 43 this year.
