My kind of place

MANASI SCOTT

AUSTRALIA

Why I like it

Australia is my all-time favourite. Though I've been there on numerous occasions, my childhood dreams of seeing the Great Barrier Reef, was realised just last year. I have to tell you that Australians are perhaps the most hospitable people. Deep down every Aussie is the perfect `tour guide'. Their patriotism and pride in everything Australian makes the country come alive for the tourists. If you like the peace and quiet of the ocean, love the nightlife and enjoy shopping and adventure sports, this is the place to be.

Food

Being a vegetarian, it was a mild problem. But like every place, a little hunting can get you wonders. Sydney is dotted with fantastic places to eat. They also have this system of "BYOB", which basically means "bring your own booze." So the meals are quite inexpensive. But there are many places for Thai and Chinese cuisine.

Hangout spots

I think a must see for every one is the "Lyrics Theater" where one can see the non-opera musicals such as Mama Mia, which have become famous worldwide. Another attraction is the Harbour Bridge and a climb on it is another must. Bondi Beach is the ultimate destination for surfers.

Special memories

I think the Great Barrier Reef was the most amazing experience for me. Watching the marine life and swimming in crystal clear waters was fantastic. This time, I also visited Max Bremmers Chocolate Factory, which is a chocolate lover's paradise. You get chocolates in every possible flavour, shape and size. The factory has a special message at the entrance — "There is just one substitute to love and that is chocolate". I just fell in love with that line!
