Bygone ERA

I am a strong proponent of letter writing. Hasn't technology robbed us of this beautiful art and the excitement of waiting for the postman? Now I don't get or receive any hand-written letters. All I get by post are annual company results, dividend letters, telephone bills and invitations to weddings or housewarming ceremonies. Ink-filled fountain pens have become antiques. It will be a sad day when my yet-to-be-born grandchild asks me: "Letter writing? What is that?!"
