SIMPLY THE BEST
Tishnagi
Shaan/EMI
Shaan returns after a two-year hiatus with a brand new album.
Shaan has grown as an artist composing six tracks and writing all the songs for the album.
"The element that sets this album apart is that we have used live instruments played by Ranjit Barot. We have also got musicians from Belgium. Tishnagi is completely original and is more vibrant and upbeat than my previous work - Aksar," says Shaan.
Another highlight is a Hindi duet addition to MLTR's Take me to your heart.
Sweat: 20 Reggae Blasters
Various/Warner
Think reggae and the Caribbean rhythm of joy comes to mind and, of course, Bob Marley.
Subsequently, UB 40, the dub group that named themselves after Unemployment Benefits Form 40, as also Diana `Shy Guy' King, Big Mountain, Maxi Priest, Shaggy and The Fugees continued the reggae train.
The latter two have been elementary in adding that glam quotient to the island sound.
This compilation has it all and presents the right note to start the New Year on.
