FINE CUISINE The event demonstrated vegetarian Vietnamese recipes
The Taj West End, in association with People for Animals (PFA), conducted a demonstration of choicest Vietnamese vegetarian fare. Said the organisers: "The aim is to educate and sensitise people on health, environmental and economic costs of animal-based choices."
PFA's aim is to promote vegetarianism, to source and promote animal-free alternatives and to enrol celebrity spokespersons to popularise cruelty-free choices.
Chef Chung and Chef Thoung from Taj West End, along with the Blue Ginger team, demonstrated some easy-to-make vegetarian dishes from the Vietnamese cuisine. Among the recipes demonstrated were raw papaya salad, fresh rice paper roll with tofu, stir-fried haricot and lemon grass ice-cream.
The proceeds from the donor charge of Rs. 800 per delegate will go towards the upkeep of PFA shelters on the outskirts of Bangalore.
P.K. Mohan Kumar, Area Director and General Manager, Taj West End said: "It is a matter of pride for us at the Taj West End to be able to contribute to this noble cause undertaken by PFA."
