A scientific journey for school students
|
Lisieux Schola Search 2006, organised by Lisieux Matriculation, Higher Secondary School will attempt to keep abreast of the advances in the fascinating field of science with a symposium that is open for class XI students of Tamil Nadu schools.
The students are invited to make presentations in any of the following subjects physical science, mathematics, biological sciences, information and communication technology. Participants could supplement their papers with charts, tables, models, photographs etc.
Each student will be given 10 minutes to present his or her work.
The organisers will provide an LCD projector for power point presentations.
In order to take part in the symposium, the student has to fill in a registration form provided by the school. Four copies of the presentation paper, typed in A4 size paper (not exceeding 500 words) along with a colour passport sized photograph should reach the Principal, Lisieux Matriculation Higher Secondary School on or before January 20.
There is no registration fee. Experts will screen the presentation paper and those whose papers are selected will be intimidated about the same by January 30.
Those who make it to the final round will have to make their presentation on February 11.
Originality, creativity, thoroughness, coherence and cohesion are the points on which the students will be judged.
All participants will be awarded certificates and the first three students will win Rs. 5,000, Rs. 3,000 and Rs. 2,000 respectively.
There will be five consolation prizes of Rs. 500 each.
