Touch of class

Blessy's "Tanmatra" (molecule) is a brave attempt at good cinema. The film, releasing this Friday at Anand in Chennai, sketches an intimate portrait of a man from an urban middle class background, doomed by Alzheimer's disease. "Tanmatra" is receiving a lot of critical acclaim ever since its release in Kerala for Christmas. No other Malayalam film has been so widely discussed by the media and the bureaucracy the State. In fact, "Tanmatra" has been featured as the cover story in major literary magazines. Mohanlal is mesmerising and he given his best-ever performance since "Vanaprastam". Meera Vasudev plays his wife Nedumudi Venu his father.
