The Opel Corsa

With the New Year here most companies have withdrawn major discount schemes. Dealers are using this time of the year as a great opportunity to tell buyers that last year they got discounts because of the year coming to an end and the cars bought in December would have been last year's cars in January. Dealers are also scaring people by telling them that a price hike might be coming soon as some companies like Hyundai have announced such plans. The best time now to hunt for a discount seems sometime around Holi in March. But there is an exception to this. GM is offering huge discounts on its now discontinued Corsa.

Opel Corsa Sail 1.6 - total savings of Rs 1,24,000 (on 1.6) - includes free insurance and registration plus zero first EMI and down payment is free. 5 per cent off on the loan amount. Corsa Sail 1.4 - ex-showroom price discounted from 5.15 to 4.49 plus 5 percent payout on loan amount. This could well be the swansong for the not-so-hot-selling Corsa. With GM planning to launch the Aveo in February this year, the Corsa is certainly on its way out. Big discounts are being offered to ensure that old inventory is sold off. And though this may mean living with an outdated and a phased out car the price for size logic might actually be a motivating factor to go in for one.
