Yana Gupta and Amrita Arora added a dash of glamour

The much awaited Emirates Airlines finally landed in the city on Thursday.
The Rajiv Gandhi Convention Centre at the Leela Kovalam Beach Hotel, Kovalam, was all geared up for an Arabian Night to celebrate the event. Over 300 specially invited dignitaries were given a warm welcome by the Emirates crew. Champagne and canapés followed. Compeering the show was actor Geetu Mohandas. As the guests settled down to an evening of warm hospitality they were entertained by some music by Pete and sizzling dance numbers.
Adding a dash of glamour was former MTV Veejay and actor Amrita Arora of `Girlfriend' and `KDKP' fame and the Czech-born dancing sensation, Yana Gupta, of `Babuji Dheere Chalna' fame who were specially flown in from Mumbai to grace the occasion.
Looking gorgeous in a white off-shoulder ankle-length dress, Yana Gupta recalled that she had first come to Kerala for a shoot of a Limca commercial. For Amrita Arora this was a first visit to Kerala. Though her mother hails from Alappuzha, she felt it was such a shame that she had never really seen Kerala.
Looking resplendent in a sea-green outfit, Amrita oozed oomph.
The function was a grand success and Emirates had a smooth landing.
