For some big money
The temptation to win big money by participating in game shows conducted by television channels has reached a new high. After Amitabh Bachchan's "KBC-2", now Zee TV has come up with "Kum Ya Zyaada" (KYZ) hosted by Manoj Bajpai. KYZ and Sony's "Deal Ya No Deal" with Mandira Bedi, the new anchor, are trying to cash in on the trend set by KBC-2.
They have already garnered enough TRPs to sustain them for some time. Though these new game shows are not a patch on "KBC-2" they have set the alarm bells ringing at STAR Plus.
Says Ajay Vidyasagar of the channel: "We are busy finalising a strong line-up of programme for the weekends." STAR Plus will soon launch a game show, "Jodi Kamal ki", to be telecast on Saturdays and Sundays. The one-hour show will be anchored by soap star Rakshanda Khan and feature celebrity couples.
