Don't forget to carry medicine
|
A few things to keep in mind when you travel
|
Whether you're headed to a lush Amazonian forest, alive with spectacular trees and lethal diseases, or heading to a destination as antiseptic as a health spa on some remote mountain top, you will need to carry medicines. Some things to keep in mind:
1) Medical pre-trip plans should swing into action about ten weeks before your departure. This gives you a comfortable amount of time to pack essential medicines and get necessary immunisations done.
2) Carry double the amount of medicine you feel you need. Preferably in two separate bags. This way, you can relax, even if you lose a bag or your trip is extended.
3) In case you have a condition like diabetes or epilepsy, inform at least one person who is travelling with you. Keep the name and phone number of your doctor with you at all times.
4) Drug laws vary from country to country. To be on the safe side, carry all medication in its original containers along with a prescription from your doctor.
5) In case you are travelling with a baby, make sure you pack a rash cream, allergy medicine, cough drops, nasal decongestant and fever medicine.
