Blooms on show

The Cochin Flower show 2000 is on. Fruits, plants and flowers vie for honours at the Subash Bose Park. The competitions and the programmes in the evening are drawing cityfolks out of their homes. There are seedlings and seeds to buy apart from an eyeful of bonsai collections and perennials, with the breeze from the backwaters to calm frayed nerves.
