Indeed Greek!

The restaurant It's Greek To Me now has yet another address

The culinary journey at this restaurant in New Delhi, It's Greek To Me, begins rather interestingly with the story of the beautiful Grecian youth Adonis who tells you why you will find no lettuce in the salads there. Once you have digested this quaint little bit of information, turn your attention towards the rest of the menu in a surrounding that contrasts the colours of the sea with those of the land. The food at the second outlet of It's Greek To Me in Defence Colony (the first is in Safdarjung Development Area) is also a blend of the two - octopuses, prawns, chicken, and veggies. The menu offers a variety of dips served with pita bread as starters. Try the artichoke and fruity wine dip for that exotic flavour or a zatziki if you prefer subtlety. The hummus dip is equally interesting with a blend of chickpeas, garlic, olive oil, lemon juice and tahini, and is one thing that Greece has in common with Lebanon. You can also choose to begin your meal with a soup or a salad.

An octopus or squid platter, succulent dolmanthes, gyros platter, spanokopita etc. constitute the mezze section or starters. The dolmanthes is a typical Greek dish of chicken or lamb or vegetables stuffed in vine leaves with rice and peanuts served with zatziki. Steamed, dolmanthes is both juicy and healthy and blends the fruity flavour of grapes with that of the stuffing. Spanokopita is another interesting starter made with spinach and stuffed in a paper-thin phyllo pastry. There's also good news for the health conscious. There's only one fried dish on the entire menu - the tirokafteri, and everything is cooked in olive oil.

At Greek, you are not a vegetarian but a neo-Pythagorean and in keeping with the tradition of the illustrious mathematician, there's plenty of choice on the menu. In the main course, try the vegetable moussaka made of eggplants and every other vegetable you can think of, or the tomato and cheese crepes. And if you prefer other veggies, there is the char-grilled vegetables and zucchini . The non neo-Pythagoreans can try the lean pork fillet served with honey and applesauce or the Athena salmon steak with dill and ouzo sauce. You can also request for your own variations at the interactive kitchen.

Try the Greek chocolate magic soufflé for dessert if you want a river of chocolate on your plate. Also fig ice cream and baklava are other options.
