Deepika Padukone, top model and daughter of badminton champion Prakash Padukone, is making her movie debut in Kannada with "Aishwarya". She is paired with Upendra in the film directed by Indrajit Lankesh. Karnataka Chief Minister H. D. Kumaraswamy was the chief guest at the muhurat. Said Deepika: "My aim is to balance my modelling and film career. It is a performancebased role, and as I am from Bangalore, I can speak Kannada fluently."
