"Indian Ocean" performs today

World Vision India presents a concert by popular Indian rock band "Indian Ocean" tonight at 7 .30 at the Wesley School Grounds, Royapettah. The concert will open with a performance by Molotov Cocktail. Proceeds from the event will go towards the welfare of children supported by World Vision India. The evening will be filled with jazz spiced rhythms that integrate Sufism, shlokas, environmentalism, mythology and revolution.

Indian Ocean is performing in Chennai for the first time. The New Delhi based band, established in 1990, has performed over 250 concerts all over the world and is a favourite at college venues. Its music is a combination of Indian rhythms and classical folk structures with jazz, rock and reggae.

The concert is organised by Making Waves, a young organisation with big and fresh ideas, which aims to create memorable weekends in the city. Its goal is to promote vision and inspiration in all artistic endeavours by creating platforms to showcase unique talents.

Molotov Cocktail is one of Chennai's favourite bands and its music varies from pop to blues and from jazz to funk. Tickets for this evening's concert are priced at Rs. 500, Rs. 300 and Rs. 100 and are available at Aircel Cell City, Connexions, Fruit Shop, Landmark, Mocha and Odyssey.
