Carry your medicines

When you are travelling carry your medicine kit. Some things to keep in mind:

* Medical pre-trip plans should swing into action about 10 weeks before your departure. This gives you ample time to pack essential medicines and get necessary immunisations done.

* Carry double the amount of medicine you feel you need. Preferably in two separate bags. This way, you can relax, even if you lose a bag or your trip is extended.

* In case you have a condition like diabetes or epilepsy, inform at least one person who is travelling with you. Keep the name and phone number of your doctor with you at all times.

* Drug laws vary from country to country. To be on the safe side, carry all medication in its original containers along with a prescription from your doctor.

* In case you are travelling with a baby, make sure you pack a rash cream, allergy medicine, cough drops, nasal decongestant and fever medicine.
