All out action

All three Tamil films which released last week, "Kalaba Kathalan", "Kalvanin Kathali" and "Madrasi", have got an `A' certificate from the censors because of their theme. The trade feels the films will take a good opening. Two of them have new directors Igor and Tamizhvannan who have dealt with bold themes, while Arjun himself is the director of "Madrasi", an all out action film. "Madrasi" will be the first Tamil film to use Digital Imaging (DI), the new wonder toy of film directors in India. Last year, at least a dozen films in Bollywood used this technique. DI gives more clarity, consistency and colour coding. It reduces the light level and is able to give a picture perfect look. "Madrasi" has Arjun playing an undercover cop in the Mumbai underworld. Vedika and Gazala add glamour. The film is crucial for Arjun, who badly needs a hit.
