Drama festival

A treat for theatre buffs

There is to be drama in the city as the Kovai K.R.S. Troupe and Kalaimamani Kovai organise a five-day festival from February 22 to 26.

The 6th Drama Festival will feature troupes from Mumbai, Chennai and Madurai.

Nadakakaran Bombay Balu's Passmark, Madurai Prasath V.C. Rajendran's Sathyavan Savithri and Chennai Rail Priya Creation's comedy, Vambu Idhu Puthusu will be staged. Cine and TV star S. Vardharajan and his troupe United Visual will present Mega Serial, written by popular writer Vedam Pudithu Kannan to entertain Coimbatore theatre lovers. Kalaimamani Raadhu's Kuraiondrumillai will also be enacted during the drama festival.

The plays will be staged at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan's open-air auditorium in R.S.Puram every evening at 6.30 P.M. Entry is free. For details, call 2470133.
