The K factor

Kentucky Fried Chicken may have had a rocky introduction to India a few years ago, but the company seems to have regained its stride and is now making forays towards the heart of the Capital's gourmets. KFC launched its maiden restaurant in the Capital the other day. This latest of fast food destinations is located at the City Square Mall, Rajouri Garden in West Delhi.

"Cosmopolitan cities like Delhi with an abundant population of young working Indians seeking aspirational lifestyles and a variety of experiences are an ideal market for KFC," says Arvind Mediratta, Chief Marketing Officer, Yum! Restaurants International (YRI). The menu at KFC promises to provide superb quality food at eye-catching prices. The managing director, Indian sub-continent, YRI, Sandeep Kohli is planning to have 25 bistros in the country by the end of this year.

The inaugural offer is rather striking. If your first name begins with the letter K, you qualify to receive double the amount of food you order for the initial 15 days after of the restaurant's opening. Lacto-vegetarian or non-vegetarian - all are welcome here. Light snack or entire meal - KFC promises it all. The non-vegetarian offerings include chicken burger with special herbs and spices, chunky chicken, claimed to be crispy outside and tender inside, flavoured with Thousand Island sauce, crispy chicken strips with salsa, chicken thali and much more. Vegetarians can have a bite of paneer tikka wrap and roll, veg fingers with salsa, veggie feast, chana crunch snacker and vegetarian thali.

Other attractions in the list are sundae (hot fudge/ strawberry/ blackcurrant) and brownie sundae. That is a delectable end to your meal, isn't it?
