THE GREAT VIJAY

Congratulations for taking the trouble to speak to the ever-gentlemanly Vijay Amritraj (To serve with love, MetroPlus, February 18, 2006). He has only brought laurels to the country with his conduct on and off court. There has never been a whiff of scandal about him.

Though he didn't make it to the really top league, he has beaten almost all his contemporaries, including the legendary Bjorn Borg.

Your interview was a refreshing take from the media overkill of Sania.

In our obsession with the hip and present, we tend to forget the pioneers who pave the way for the next generation to dream big.
