Maddy on a roll

Madhavan is on a roll. His performance as Flt. Lt. Ajay Rathod in "Rang De Basanti", a character that the others in the film look up to, has come in for critical acclaim. Being part of a big hit in recent times has given Maddy a newfound confidence. Now, he is all excited about his film "Thambi" in Tamil, which released on Friday. It is in the action genre and is directed by Seeman. While Pooja plays the female lead and Biju Menon, the villain, Vadivel provides the comedy. After "Run", one of Maddy's most successful films, he is now doing a solo action movie. Says Maddy: "The role of `Thambi' is challenging. His character is a blend of Mahatma Gandhi and Subhash Chandra Bose. It is an unusual action film, as it is against violence!" The music is by Vidyasagar. Surprisingly, "Thambi" was passed with a `U' certificate, as it has a strong message for the youth.
