Novel role

After the critical acclaim he received for his performance as an Alzheimer's patient in "Tanmatra", Mohanlal is now playing a carpenter in "Rasathantram" for director Sathyan Anthikkad. The film, shot in the beautiful locales of Moolamattum in Idukki district of Kerala, is almost complete. Sathyan and Mohanlal are coming together again after 12 years. Remember their combination had resulted in some of the most memorable comedies in the past. Says Sathyan Anthikkad: "`Rasathantram' is a serious family drama with an undercurrent of comedy. Mohanlal plays Premachandran Asari with a terrific sense of humour." Meera Jasmine is acting opposite him for the first time and the highlight is she comes in the guise of a boy servant in the first half. Ilayaraja scores the music and the film is due for a Vishu release.
