Taste of Orissa
It is not often we get to taste the food of Orissa in New Delhi. But it has been on offer for some time now, courtesy Orissa Odyssey at New Delhi's Radisson hotel. Organised in association with the Department of Tourism, the festival continues till this coming Sunday.
At the festival besides tasting delicacies from the State, you can also witness Orissa's living heritage in the form of its folk dances, handicraft and arts. The whole ambience has been designed to take the guests to the land known for its Chilka Lake and Jagannath temple, among others.
The guests may feel drawn towards the aromatic and appetizing array of authentically prepared snacks and main course. One can savour the Mandapitha with Buta Dali (rice cake and channa dal), Pheni and Chena Bhaja (cottage cheese preparation), Bhata and Sada Mahura (rice and vegetable curry), Chingudi Mahura (prawn curry), Kankada Bharta (crab), Macha Besara (rohu fish curry), Mohurali Macha Bhaja (fried fish), Chena Pora (golden fried sweetened casein), Chena Bhaja and many more things. NO wonder, the chef cannot stop talking about the food.
"We are endowing our guests with various sweets and combo meals at the stalls," reveals Chef Bibhu Prasad Bhatta.
