Off-beat film on Hyderabad

An offbeat short film on Hyderabad, Me, Meera will be screened at the Alliance Française of Hyderabad on Friday, March 10, at 7 p.m. The film breaks away from the conventional structure of a documentary film and has its ownfierce individuality.

Pictured in more than 100 locations in the twin cities, it takes gentle pot-shots at some pretentious lifestyles and throws light on many simple pleasures of life one can find in the city of Nawabs.

Made with a budget of $2,000, the film was shot in Hyderabad in five months time.

Subhakar did not decide to make a documentary. He simply realised that most of the thoughts and sentences in his script were about Hyderabad. He then created a girl called Meera, thinking about her own life andpresenting the city to the audience. "It's a work of fiction blended with some thoughts and observations on the real world.." The heroine of the film, Meera, is played by Supraneeti..
