Laugh riot
Director Priyadarshan is considered a master at making situational comedies for the Bollywood multiplex audience. His films "Hera Pheri", "Hungama", "Hulchul" and the recent "Garam Masala" had their producers laughing all the way to the bank. Now Priyadarshan is back with "Malamaal Weekly", which is releasing this Friday. The film stars comedy actor Paresh Rawal,
Priyadarshan's favourite. "Malaamal Weekly" revolves around a lottery ticket seller in a small village, Leelaram, who learns that a ticket he had sold has won the bumper prize of Rs. One crore.
His attempts to get back the ticket from the buyer before the latter gets to know about the prize give rise to funny situations. Om Puri, Rajpal Yadav, Asrani, Ritesh Deshmukh, Sakthi Kapoor, Reema Sen, Sudha Chandran and Malayalam comedian Innocent are in the cast. Says Priyadarshan: "`Malamaal Weekly' is a laugh riot. It is my best work in the comedy genre so far."
