Holi special

From white salwars to fresh tips on skin care... here's how to celebrate Holi

WHITE VARIETY For Holi at Westside

It's time to spread joy, colour and love! Celebrated with great zest and verve, Holi, the festival of colours, is just round the corner and Westside, the store from the house of Tata's, brings to you a wide range of whites.

Starting from Rs. 199, the collection of whites includes kurtas, linen pants, shirts and t-shirts for men.

For women, there are smart kurtis, embroidered salwar kameezes, chiffon and bandhni dupattas, linen pants, stretch pants, t-shirts and lots more to choose from.

So make sure you rush to your nearest Westside store and grab your favourite collection of whites on which the vibrant shades of the traditional holi gulal will look best!

Skin care tips

Here are some Holi Skin Care Tips from Kaya Skin Advisory.

Before: Wash your face in the morning and use a toner to close your pores, this will prevent the colour from settling in the pores. Use a sun block on all exposed areas. This will block the skin from being exposed to harsh colours and prevent it from damage. Preferably wear full sleeves so that your hands are covered. Don't use metallic colours as they have chemical content and react fast with the skin. Buy natural colours made of flowers or sandalwood. One can also use mehendi as a substitute to green gulal. Try Tesu: If you wish to go in for water colours, boil some tesu flowers. This results in a natural yellow-orange liquid colour, which is not harmful.

After: Take a quick bath: Don't leave colour on for too long. Use a body gel and a good scrub. Rinse your hair in lemon juice or leftover beer to bring back the shine and volume. For removing colours use a moisturising cream. Then use a mild soap to wash them. You can also use a scrub all over your body to remove colour particles that may be stuck. Use steam on your face to open up your pores and release the trapped colours. You can use a fruit-based (papaya) face pack for the clean-up.
