Grand Ashok is planning a series of theme nights around film greats

CLASSIC The first in the series was Hitchcock's masterpiece Psycho

With dinner theatre becoming passé, the Grand Ashok took the concept to the next step last weekend with an evening of Supper Cinema. The hotel paid tribute to that great master of suspense, Alfred Hitchcock, with a screening of his seminal thriller Psycho and a four-course meal designed around the theme.

Diners whetted their appetites on a range of cocktails and short eats like potato hearts and cold canapés during the screening. The TDH meal that followed took the concept forward with unique dishes designed to represent the various Hitchcock classics such as The 39 Steps — crusted pinwheels with layers of stuffing — and The Cat o' Nine Tails — fish straddle with herb crusted nuts and boccocini.

This edition of Grand Ashok's Supper Cinema is planned as the first in a line of theme nights, that will occur on special occasions such as birthdays of the stars of cinema and so on. Every such event will be priced at Rs. 1,000 per person and will include cocktails and a four-course meal. For details, call 22269462.
