On Asokamitran's book "Mole" on March 22

The Madras Book Club is organising a talk on Asokamitran's "Mole" on March 22, 6.15 p.m. at Hotel Connemara. B. S. Raghavan, retired IAS officer, and Shashi Kumar of the Asian College of Journalism will speak on the work. The book was originally published in Tamil titled "Otran" and the English translation is by N. Kalyan Raman. The fictional events narrated in "Mole" take place within a period of seven months, nearly all of them in the American Midwest. The narrator, a culturally rooted writer from Chennai, is transplanted amidst a motley group of fellow writers from distant parts of the world, all of them as dangerously dislocated as him.
