The Neemrana Quartet, a classical music group will perform on March 19, 4 p.m. at the Alliance Francaise Auditorium. The programme is open to all and seating is on a first-cum-first-served basis.Four young artistes who shared the same passion for chamber music came together to form the quartet. With their different orchestras, the foursome has won several international prizes. During their musical study tenure, they had performed before grandmasters such as M. Rostrapovich, G. Kurtag, J. C. Casadessus and K. Mazur. Their musical adventures have taken them to several festivals in Europe as well as direct radio broadcasts. This year will see them perform in Paris, in India, at the `Pro Musica Festival' in Pamiers with Mozart as the theme, Corsica and Rome.
With regard to the programme on March 19, the quartet will play Beethoven's Opus Quartet 135, Schubert's Quartet "La jeune fille et la mort" and one of Mozart's Quartet to celebrate the year of Mozart.
During their stay in Chennai, the quartet will perform in various other places in the city, besides the Alliance.
