The Punj punch!

Arjun Punj, now seen on SaharaOne's "Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki" shares his experience with SANGEETA BAROOAH PISHAROTY

Like most youngsters who put on Greasepaint, this young man from the city's Greater Kailash area too wants his Ultimate stop to be the Tinsel Town

DELHI'S OWN Arjun Punj had a taste of fame with the tele-serial, "Sanjeevani" on Star Plus Photo: Anu Pushkarna

For the tele-actor Arjun Punj, you don't mind tampering with just one line of the ever-young popular romantic number "Killing me softly with his song... ." with "Killing me softly with his smile... ". Honestly, this Delhiite has a got such a soft, shy and a dimpled smile that anyone would forgive him for a thousand sins.

And don't think he doesn't know that as one of his strong points when it comes to checking out the tele-actors' charisma quotient. "When I was doing Sanjeevani for Star Plus, many people told me they took to me so easily only because they liked my smile. When the script suddenly changed and made me a negative character, I got viewer feedback that I was not outright hated but thought of as, why is he doing that after all?" says Arjun. Out of this Fireworks Production series quite some time ago, Arjun is now seen only in one serial, Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki on SaharaOne. And this time too, the actor has been able to grab a lot of attention in the role of Raj.

"It has got considerable ratings. Rajashri Productions has always been known for rolling out creative works which are so real, so much a part of our everyday life. This serial is also no different. Be it the character of Rani or Raj, they are all very real and that is what attracts the viewers, I guess," he feels.

Arjun describes Raj as a soft character, someone who is not loud at all and respects his elders, a role that fits his mushy looks perfectly. "His dialogues bring out the goodness of his character," he feels.

Dreaming of Bollywood

Like most youngsters who put on the greasepaint, this young man from the city's Greater Kailash area too wants his ultimate stop to be Tinsel Town. Though no Hindi movie has happened to him yet, he has a Telugu film to count. "Also, I am doing a tele-film, Tere Liye," he adds. Nothing significant, but well, he has started somewhere at least.
