Fun management

It was party time the other day for students of the Jaipuria Institute of Management, Ghaziabad. After a year of studying hard, they had fun, but with a difference, since the event reflected the ever-present ambition of students these days to accumulate skills related to their profession. The occasion was the Inter-Institute annual festival Jimania'06.

The idea behind the festival was networking, as all future managers need the skill, and also to encourage students in talents in different fields other than management. "The intention is to provide a platform to talent, enjoy the day, meet each other," says Madan Lal Madan, Director of the institute.

Over 15 institutes from Ghaziabad and nearby areas participated in the event. These included the Institute of Management and Technology, the Institute of Technology and Sciences, Mohan Nagar, the Krishna Institute of Engineering and Technology, the Centre for Management Development, the K.N. Modi Institute of Technology and others.

D.C. Garg, Mayor of Ghaziabad, was present as the guest of honour. Interestingly, he is the first Senior of the State and also the first chartered accountant.

Students and faculty actively participated and a large number of visitors turned up. The games included Volte Face, Ad Mad Show, Antakshari, Corporate Quiz, Choreography and others. Volte Face was just another name for Just a Minute. In Software Debugging, students had given syntax with error, and the contestants had to rectify it. Paper presentation was also popular, in which participants gave a presentation on a pre-determined topic.
