RED HOT A model in a Rahul and Gunjan creation

Designer duo Rahul and Gunjan is making its debut at the Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week 2006 with their Autumn /Winter 2006 and Spring/ Summer 2007 collections. Recently they organised a preview of their collection. The duo retails across India through leading retail chains and fashion stores like Pantaloon, Buzz at Shopper's Stop, "Studio Ivory" at Ebony, Aza fashion store at Mumbai and Ffolio boutique at Bangalore and Sanskrit in Hong Kong, Tara Blanca in Tokyo and the international chain, United Colors of Benetton.

A brainchild of Rahul and Gunjan, the label "Sirali" stands for peacock's plume. With Rahul being a management graduate and Gunjan's background in fashion study from NIFT, Delhi they combine both the facets of fashion. According to them the target consumer is 30 plus corporate woman. "The price line starts from Rs.500 and both middle and upper middle class is taken into account." The duo has tried to give a new touch to the fabric by joining threads. Eight years back they started their career with one machine now they have 80 employees working under them. "Talent is inborn so one doesn't need to go for any degree," says Rahul. The former director FDCI, Vinod Kaul who was present on the occasion says, "India is lacking behind in world fashion market because the Indian corporate market is uncomfortable with investing into the world of fashion." The duo has celebrity clients like Caroline Douglas, Naomi Campbell and Mallaika Arora Khan. Rahul and Gunjan believe true success of Sirali has been in taking designer ready-to-wear to a wider consumer base in India and around the world.
