Best for your baby

Name it and you'll have it for your baby at Fat Cat

Having a baby these days often means wanting that dream nursery that you've seen in ever so many movies too. Of course, with the way the baby products industry is booming, parents-to-be don't find this a daunting task anymore. Another little store that makes it yet easier for those of you seeking nursery furniture and furnishings is Fat Cat, which has many soft furnishings to choose from.

The brainchild of Zainab Sulaiman, who founded Fat Cat because she couldn't find co-ordinated nursery furnishings when she was having her own baby, the store gives you a number of accessories that are well coordinated across themes. And so, you would find bed linen, blankets, pillows, cot bumpers, carry bags for baby's stuff, nappy stackers and so on, in themes like a snoozy lion, jungle animals, a donkey and rose.

Zainab stresses that her designs are unique, consistent and well co-ordinated, and the work on each product (done mostly in patch work, appliqué and embroidery) is more extensive than you would find on imported products that are priced similarly. Quality of the products can also be seen in the neat stitching, careful co-ordination of colours and planning of the product range.

At Fat Cat, you can also pick up unique products like height charts, ready gift hampers for a baby, full-length body bibs for the little one, and soft wraps for baby boys and girls. Stretching her product range for pre-schoolers, Zainab has also designed a range of sleepwear for both boys and girls and takes customised orders for her products too. In fact, she takes delight in embroidering a name and date of birth on products like quilts and cites these as excellent gifts for a child.

While pricing is a wee bit on the higher side for some products, Fat Cat promises you good quality. They will soon be adding toy chests and drawers to their range of furniture which currently includes baby cots in different sizes and styles and rocking chairs and horses.

Fat Cat can be contacted on 25352908.
