The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) of PSG College of Technology has set the ball rolling for automobile shows with AutoXplode'06.

The show brings together in-house talent as well as the latest offerings in automobiles.

On till March 26 from 9.a.m. to 9 p.m. at the N- block grounds of PSG college of Technology, the show displays an abundance of innovation and business acumen of future engineers.


If Sundaram Honda used the platform to showcase the Honda city and Accords, Chandra Hyundai brought in the Sonatas, Accents and Getzs.

You can also take a peek at Mitsubishi's Cedia and brand new bikes.

TVS is using the show as the launch pad to unveil the Apache range of bikes priced at Rs.50, 000.

Apart from the latest in cars and bikes, on-the-spot vehicle loans, vehicle service tips and consultation with industry experts are also available at the auto show. For bike lovers, there is also a contest for re-modelled bikes.

The basic objective of the show is to attract students towards technology and also to help the general public learn more about cars. Indicas and Indigos from Tata, Altos and Swifts from Maruti are also lined up.

What more, you also have an exclusive test track to help you decide on the best car.


Apart from leading automobile majors, the key features at the exhibition include design and technology products beginning with engines to LCD displays.

Apart from exhibiting the chassis of a Santro in the four-wheeler category and the Hero Honda in the two-wheelers, students also displayed other technology products that go into the making of a car.

A variety of fun events and quiz contests have been planned on all the three days for those attending the expo.
