Telugu musical evening
For the first time in Chennai, S.P. Balasubrahmanyam is presenting a Telugu musical evening on March 30 to celebrate Ugadi. The programme titled "Dorakuna... Ituvanti... Seva" will feature the Telugu golden hits of SPB — from the old to the latest. S.P. Sailaja, S.P. Charan and Gopika Poornima will also participate in the three-hour concert.
The event is being organised to support "Rasa", a centre for special children and adults and to extend financial help to three deserving families of Vedic pundits.
On the occasion, Telugu lyricist Bhuvana Chandra will speak on the importance of Ugadi (Ugadi Praasastyam), which will be followed by "Panchaanga Sravanam" (What the coming year holds for us?) by the famous brothers Aswini Shastry and Rohini Shastry.
The programme will be held at Kamaraj Arangam, Teynampet, from 6 p.m. onwards.
The entry tickets priced at Rs. 100, Rs. 200, Rs. 300, Rs. 500 and Rs.1,000 are available at the venue from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Landmark (N.H. Road) and Trinethra Supermarket (T.Nagar, TTK Road) and Anna Nagar (Opposite K-4 police station).
