Beat Street

Some soul and R&B

Brit rock and hip hop hit the stands

SHE'S BACK Mariah Carey

Collected

Massive Attack/EMI

After Blue Lines, Protection, Mezzanine and 100th Window, Massive Attack is currently in the studios recording its fifth album due for release in early 2007. Titled Weather Underground, it will be a collaborative effort with Neil Davidge. In the meantime, the group has released `a best' of compilation, an apt reminder of their musical legacy to date.

The twin CD album follows their brand new single Live with me, featuring Terry Callier on vocals. The first volume features tracks chosen by the band, and the second, new compilation of rare and reworked material.

Mother

Kubb/Universal

Touted as the next Coldplay, the Brit rock band is one to watch out for in 2006. Make way for its debut album. The title reflects singer songwriter Harry Collier's thought on `divine feminine' in religion and earth. What to check on the album? Collier's voice and loads of soul.

Wild 2Nite

Various/Universal

With a `get on the dance floor' theme coming strong all through the album this is a compilation for the weekend gig and also for the road.

The hip-hop and R&B dance attack features Will Smith, Rihanna, Shaggy, Mariah Carey, Pussy Cat Dolls, Black Eyed Peas and others with their current hits.

The BPM is soothing. Latest anthems make it a worthwhile cover.
