The Himalayas, adventure and holidays... if these are what you seek, then the Oberoi group has some tempting options. Wildflower Hall, the group's luxury resort located at a height of 8,250 feet in Mashobra, offers mountain trails, rafting on the Sutlej, horse rides and of course, never-ending views of the snow-capped mountains.
The former residence of Lord Kitchener, Commander-in-Chief of the British Army, the resort is surrounded by 23 acres of virgin woods of pine and cedar.
Valid till June 30, the Wildflower Hall in the Himalayas Adventure Package includes a four-night stay in a deluxe room and breakfast for two. The package includes a mountain biking trip through fragrant woods or a trek through unspoilt countryside accompanied by a naturalist, which is followed by a picnic.
A spa therapy at the Oberoi Spa by Banyan Tree is also part of the offer. The package costs Rs. 59,000 for a couple.
The group also offers a Himalayan Vacation package at the Oberoi Cecil in Shimla. The place is said to be an ideal base for exploring the Himalayas. The package includes two or three nights stay for two with provision for an additional room for kids under 12 at a 50 per cent discount. Priced between Rs. 13,000 and Rs. 19,000 depending on the number of nights, the package also includes 20 per cent rebate on local transport and a 25 per cent discount on food and beverage.
