I own a 3.5-year-old Ikon SXi which has done about 30,000 km and I want to replace my current set of tyres (Bridgestone S-322) with a new set. My priority is a comfortable ride. However, I would also like a tyre which allows me to exploit the excellent handling characteristics of the Ikon. Any suggestions?
Ashok, via email
For better handling, you can fit an upsize to the original 175/70-R13s choose the 185/60-R13 but this may be at the cost of ride comfort. We would advise going in for tubeless tyres of the size.
I need to replace the tyres on my 1991 model Maruti 800. Should I stick to cross-plies or go in for radials or maybe even tubeless tyres? My running is limited to the city and I average about 30 kilometres a day.

Go for the radials as they provide more comfort as well as better control. The Apollo Amazer XL would be a good choice for your car. Avoid tubeless tyres if your car is fitted with pressed steel wheels as these tyres have a tendency to slip out of the rims in the event of a puncture.
Where can I buy imported rims and tyres for my Toyota Qualis? What is the best size and brand to buy? I do not drive very fast but want the car to look better.
Prakash Suri, via email
It is a good choice to go in for imported tyres for the Qualis, mainly in the tubeless version. You could consider the options in Michelin size 195/70-R14 or the Pirelli Citinet 195/70-R14 tyres. Bridgestone also has the 195/70-R14 available in tubeless
