Speed up with SMS

Motorsports is supposed to be the second toughest sport after soccer. It requires lots of guts and stamina to survive high speeds.

This past Sunday, Society of Motorsports (SMS) organised a motorcycle racing show Servo Helltrack 2006 at the Punjabi Bagh Stadium.

High-speed action

One of its kind, it was meant to provide Delhi some high-speed action. SMS is a professional group of achievers in the field of motorsports. Its president, Nipender Jassy is the former National Motorcross champion.

The organisers claimed the event is of the standards of National Motocross event with man made obstacles. The racetrack was 600 meters in length with a wide starting area.

There were eight different categories of races. There were special races of foreign bikes, Indian 2 stroke bikes, Indian 4 stroke bikes, new riders and professional expert riders and a special scooter class.

Most of the races lasted in 8 laps on 600-meter course excluding one special enduro category of 50 laps.

Some of the famous riders that participated in the show include Rajesh Kumar and Prince Singh of Delhi. Giving them tough competition were Jaipur's M Syed, Abhishek and G.Khatri.
