Great combo!
Many noted south Indian filmmakers have tried their best to get Nana Patekar to act in a regional film. But all of them have failed as Nana makes it clear that he is not interested in getting beaten up by the southern superstars! It seemed that Bharathiraaja had achieved the impossible by convincing the actor to do a film for him.
Though Nana was impressed with Bharathiraaja's script, he still asked the veteran director to do the film in Hindi.
Last Sunday, at Bollywood's most happening place, J. W. Marriott in Mumbai, the film aptly titled "Bharathiraaja's Cinema" was launched with a lot of fanfare in the presence of Vikram, Boney Kapoor, Sridevi, director David Dhawan, Padmini Kolhapure and Poonam Dhillon.
Says P. G. Shreekkanth, co-producer of the film: "It was a gala function and the first schedule has started in Mumbai. We will be shooting in Goa and London later.
Nana Patekar plays a film director and it is a love story woven around a murder mystery."
Two new girls Farana and Roopali along with Niyemat Khan are in the cast. The music is by Bollywood's current favourite Himesh Reshamaya.
