Chords & Notes

THIS IS ME

Sa Re Ga Ma Rs.145

Sunali Rathore has undergone a metamorphosis. Wife of singer Roop Kumar Rathore, Sunali has tried out pop here in the company of Leslie Lewis.

The album has a hint of jazz but all the songs sound similar. The beats have a soothing effect but Mehboob's verse is unimpressive. The opening number "Ooh Ooh La La" has some sensuality but it's largely because of the video by Kiran Deohans that's already on air. "Tanha Hai" and "Yeh Jiya Jale Mera" are all right but the monotony that sets in with first song cannot be brushed away.

MEET BROTHERS

T-Series

The album wants to thrive on the music video boom of remixing old hits. Manmeet and Harmeet have given up any pretensions of being original after their first album failed to find any takers. They have joined hands with Harry Anand, considered by many as the master of remixes. The songs include "Pyar Hamein Kis Mod Pe" from Satte Pe Satta, "Ye Dosti" from Sholay and "Jaana O Meri Jaana" from Sanam Teri Kasam. The brothers have got the pitch to keep the legs shaking but lack the melody to move the heart.
