`I love New York'

Memorable time

The best time of my growing up years were those lovely summer months and Christmas holidays spent in New York. My dad was working in Manhattan and I would eagerly wait to take off to the Big Apple.

Bubbling with life

New York has everything to make it the most happening metro in the world. One cannot help but fall for its diverse culture, landscapes and recreation. With so much to offer, the city marvellously caters to every tourist's interests. Endless choice of restaurants, shopping and nightlife, but that's not all. There are also world-class museums, beaches, mountains, waterfalls (Niagara) and attractions such as the Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty.

September 11 tragedy

I love the city so much that I was devastated by the fall of the twin towers. For many days, I could not imagine NY without those landmark buildings.

My father's office was located in the same area. The crowd and traffic could never dampen my enthusiasm to visit my father in his office often. Many a time, my father would buy me toys from a shop nearby. Many of these cute little things I still have and don't intend to part with.

Oh! That huge tree

Christmas is spectacular in NY. On Christmas Eve, my parents and I (literally bundled in warm clothes) would drive down to Rockefeller Center to see the gigantic Christmas tree. Unbelievably huge, it used to be a great sight to watch the beautifully decorated tree.

Goa is No. 2

Sun, sand, surf, seafood and soothing breeze, that's Goa — my idea of a perfect holiday in India.
