A fashion statement
As TV shows get sleeker, the audiences are eager to see what the anchors wear.
Kushboo's "Jackpot" blouses became a fashion statement and now, the salwar-kameezes worn by Mamti Chari and Vijayalakshmi on the morning show, "Hello Tamizha" (Vijay TV), are popular among college students.
Today, more and more designers in Chennai and Mumbai are looking at high-profile shows and provide their clothes to anchors, in the process of marketing their brand. Look what is happening in Hindi shows.
The czars of fashion are dressing up anchors. Tarun Tahiliani's outfits are worn by Rakshanda Khan in "Jodee Kamal Ki" (STAR Plus), while Mandira Bedi is draped in Satya Paul saris with designer blouses in "Deal Ya No Deal" (Sony TV).
