Rajguru Smruti's annual festival tomorrow promises to be a treat to music lovers

GRAND LEGACY Pandit Rajshekar Mansur
Rajguru Smruti, the music organisation instituted in the memory of the great Pandit Basavaraj Rajguru, will present its 12th annual Sangeet Samaroh on April 9, Sunday.
This daylong festival of Hindustani music at the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan begins at 10 a.m.
The morning session will have a flute recital by Praveen Godkhindi and vocal recital by Rupande Shah.
The evening session, which begins at 6 p.m., has a sitar recital by Manju Mehta followed by a vocal recital by Pandit Rajshekar Mansur.
The tabla accompanists for this festival will be Pandit Ravindra Yavagal, Vishwanath Nakod, Rajendra Nakod and Gurumurthy Vaidya. On the harmonium are Pandit Ravindra Kaoti and Vyasamurthi Katti. On the sarangi is Fayaz Khan.
The programme, sponsored by the Department of Kannada and Culture, is not ticketed and entry is free.
